Computers & Technology
The Computer and Technology department at La Salle Institute is designed to facilitate learning, digital citizenship and problem solving throughout La Salle. Students will develop skills to acquire, interpret, synthesize and present information from multiple sources, allowing them to foster higher-level thinking skills.
Tools and applications are used across the curriculum as a backbone for multidisciplinary learning initiatives. Through varied coursing, students have the opportunity to display their knowledge of literature, history, mathematics and science by linking these subjects in creative technology-supported projects.
As part of the Computers & Technology program, students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of software. Word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills are developed in the students’ early years at La Salle. Digital graphics, video and animation skills are introduced in middle school and developed during the students’ high school years.
Students are eligible to take electives, such as programming, once they enter their junior and senior year.
