Annual Fund: 500 in 50 - WE DID IT!
We are poised to take our school into the next incredible chapter of its revered history.
Knowing that the key to our success is increasing the level of Alumni support, we have been given a challenge from an anonymous Alumnus –
500 contributions in 50 days and we can claim his $15,000 gift.
Here’s the FAQ:
When do we start?
We kick-off on Thursday, April 7, the Feast of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
When does it end?
Thursday, May 26, 2016
How will my classmates learn about this challenge?
We will have a series of mail and email communications set to go out starting with a teaser postcard before the official kick-off. We will have a video clip, announcements on Facebook, and an email blast. We will also send out a mailing to all 5,000+ alumni asking for their gift.
Where can we keep track of the progress?
We will have an official 500 in 50 challenge webpage that will debut on April 7 under the Giving section of our webpage. We will highlight contributors, post class standings, and utilize inter-class challenges to get us to the goal. Please check this page regularly and visit us on Facebook!
How will alumni make a contribution?
We have a secure link for online contributions.
Gifts may also be made by calling the Advancement office or mailing a check to:
La Salle Institute
174 Williams Road
Troy, NY 12180
- What level gift are we asking for?
The key to this challenge is EVERY gift counts. So, if you can only afford $10, it counts! We encourage everyone to be as generous as they find comfortable. It’s the participation that counts.
What if an alumnus already made a gift to the Annual Fund?
To date, less than 200 alumni have made an Annual Fund gift for this year. We know there are many more alumni that want to help support La Salle Institute and claim this $15,000 gift. Also, if an alumnus makes an additional gift during these 50 days, it will be counted in our tall for the 500 goal and help their class toward claiming the top participation award.
Does this replace the phonathon?
Yes, we will NOT conduct the traditional phonathon as we have had significantly decreasing results for a labor-intensive effort. However, we encourage each class representative to call their classmates and ask for their support.
What are we raising money for?
These contributions support the Annual Fund. This support underwrites numerous scholarship, academic and athletic opportunities, as well as further leadership programs that will provide our students with the opportunity to apply their lessons and our LaSallian values in a real world setting.
